What a Dork

I was going through some pictures just to see what I had and I found this. Here we are trying to take a nice shot of Nana and there is my dork of a husband needing some attention. He is such a goof. But someone has to love him right?!?! If anyone wants that job of loving him let me know. J/K. He is a great person and a wonderful father.

4 & 26

Update on Kiyah and Xander: Xander is now 4 months old, seems so much longer. He is rolling over from his back to his belly, and of course hates it when he gets to his stomach because he can't see anything. His check up went just perfect, nothing to cause worry, he is 14.8 pounds and 24.5". His doctor loves doing his check up because he always holds still and lets him do whatever he needs. He is bigger than Kiyah was at this age, but I think is has to do with him breast feeding longer than she did. Kiyah is 26 months old, or just over 2 years, and had the lovely affair of getting stitches. She was good through the whole thing and the nurses loved working with her. She loves singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star all the time and of course with that same tune she loves singing ABC's. Both love being around each other and Kiyah is so accepting of all the things that Xander does to her.

This is our barbecue in the back yard. We discovered a robin was living in it, with her four eggs!!!Unfortunately they did not live, the mother abondoned them when we found her living there.

The start to my garden. This was Ryan's Mother's Day present to me. He cleaned out the front area and planted a bunch of flowers. They are starting to look really good. I love them.

My poor baby girl. We were at a funeral and she was putting the hymn book back in the holder and slipped off the bench and into the book holder. What a brave little girl though, after the shock wore off she was singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star about 45 mintues later as we were driving up to Primary Children's Hospital to get stitches in her nose. She got 8 stitches and luckily no black eyes. Hopefully there will not be too much of a scar.

Xander's Blessing

We did Xander's Baby Blessing on Sunday and it turned out so nice. The sun was in and out all day but all together it was a nice day. Here are some pictures of the wonderful event.

Believe it or not my son has eyes. This is the only picture so far that I have with his eyes open. Just like everyone else, the second kid gets less pictures taken of them at the beginning. All in all he is a very happy baby.

Kiyah all of a sudden just got up and climbed up on Ryan's chest, she did not have any help and she didn't fall. What a brave child.

Pregnancy Tag

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant? In the Insta Care, I had to go in to get a doctors note for work saying that I was sick for a weekend.
2- Who was with you? Just me and the doctor.
3- How did you find out that you were pregnant? By peeing in a cup.
4-What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? Bitter Sweet, I wanted someone besides an Insta Care doctor there to share the moment with
5- What main symptoms sold it for you? Non really. Except the fact that I missed my period by four days. Very odd for me.
6- Who was the first person you told? Ryan, I think. My mom guessed it before I took the test.
7-Did you plan to get pregnant? YES
8-Was everybody happy for you? Definitely.
9- Did you want to find out the sex? Yup!!!
10-What was the sex? Girl.
11-Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Yes
12-If yes, who? My mom threw one in San Diego with the ladies from my ward that I grew up in and my aunts and cousins. My mother in law threw one for Ryan's family and the women in the ward that he grew up in. Then the ladies in our ward threw one for me. Chalk one up for having family in different parts of the country, you get a lot of stuff.
13- Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew you weren't going to put on your baby? A LOT... I am anti pink and no one read the invitations that said "Prefers colors other than PINK".
14- How much weight did you gain? Too much according to my mom, but that enough for the doctor to be concerned.
15- Did you lose all of the weight that you gained? Nope, I started to and got about 10 pounds away, but then I got pregnant again.
16- Did you get a lot of stretch marks? TONS....And I don't care what people say, those things DO NOT go away.
17- What did you crave the most? Fresh Fruit. Ryan was mean enough that the one time that I asked him to go get me a pregnancy craving he refused.
18- Did you crave anything crazy? French Fries with Fry Sauce from Leatherby's.
19-Who or what got on your nerves the most? Nothing really.
20-Did you ever resent your husband for "putting you in this situation"? NEVER
21- Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Nope.
22-Where were you when you went into labor? In my bed... I'd been asleep for about an hour when my contractions started. I wasn't sure they were real, so I got up and walked around for about an hour than went back to bed because my back hurt. Then I waited about another hour, called the hospital, waited another hour, than went in.
23-Did your water break? No... they had to break it.
24- What were you feeling when you knew your baby was almost here? Nervous, I had a C-Section and was not too sure about the surgery.
25- Did you go early or late? Right on time. I didn't even start labor until 2:00 am on my due date
26- Who was in the room with you when you gave birth? Who knows! A lot of nurses a couple doctors and Ryan.
27-Was it video taped? No but I watched the surgery. That was weird.
28- Did you have any drugs for the pain? Epidural, I had to have one.
29-Did you go natural or have a c-section? C-Section, Kiyah had a lot of distress.
30- What was your first reaction after giving birth? I was happy and then a lot of pain set in from being opened up. I do not even remember holding Kiyah for the first time, I was way out of it.
31- How big was the baby? 6 pounds 11 ounces
32- Did your Husband cry? I don't think so... if he did it wasn't much.
33- What did you name the baby? Kiyah Rose
34-Was it difficult coming up with his/her name? Yes and no. Before we found out we were having a girl we were set on the name Adrianna Nicole, but when Ryan knew we were having a girl he nixed the name and we had to come up with another one. Than, we came up with Kiyah, but he wasn't sure if I would like it because it was an old bosses daughters name and I did not like that boss very much. (She fired me when I found out I was pregnant, though she would not give that exact reason.)
35- How long were you in labor? 10 hours all together. 6 in the hospital
36- How much time did you get with your baby before they whisked him/her away? A few seconds... They showed her over the partition and that was all I saw. I got morphine after that and did not remember anything for the next 30 minutes.
37- Did the baby(s) have any complications? Yes. She had a lot of stress and macomium, however you spell that, and she had the cord wrapped around her ankle. Ryan says she wanted to try bungee jumping right away.
38- How old is your baby today? 21 months almost 22.
39- When is the next one(s) coming? As long as I don't go early, January 26. A scheduled C-Section
40-If you could, would you do it all over again? Yes, obviously. My pregnancies are not that bad. I never get sick. And with this one, I really did not gain any weight.

Time is Short

This is just an update on the due date. I can not believe that I am only 6 weeks away from giving birth. We are actually going to do a scheduled C-Section because my doctor does not want to run any risks of complications. Which is fine by me, the less to worry about the better. I get to go in to the hospital, get hooked up to monitors, get pain killers because of the surgery, and then have a healthy happy baby with no complications. What more could a mom ask for? What is really nice about doing a scheduled delivery is that the doc took a week of my count down time. Nothing could be better for an impatient person.

BUSTED

Can anyone tell me what my daughter sees me do all the time. If you can not tell she is talking on the phone and taking down notes on a piece of paper. I just did not think that I spent that much time on the phone writing down stuff at the same time. It was just too cute, I had to take a picture.

My Big Little Girl

We tried out the toddler bed with Kiyah. She is doing so well. I questioned whether I wanted her to have the ability to get up by herself and run a muck in the house, but she still gets up around 8:30 or 9:00. She even goes to bed with out too much hassle. Nap time is a little different, it takes her about 45 minutes to an hour to calm down and stay in bed. Yesterday she gave me a laugh though, apparently I was making too much noise and she got out of bed and closed her door and went back into bed. I really thought that she was going to come out of her room, but she just wanted her door closed all the way. Aren't kids go much fun some times.

What Else

We went up to Big Bear while we were down in San Diego and what else could we do but go fishing. We dropped off my mom to hike a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail and then we went down into Big Bear and went fishing. No one caught anything, bad weather, but as Ryan says, a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work.

Go to your fourth folder and get your fourth picture and post it. This one is our first Christmas in our house. Which was actually in 2006. We switch off Thanksgiving and Christmas between the families, so we did not have our first Christmas in our house until we had been in our house for almost two years.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RY-RY

Today is my hubbies birthday and the old man is turning 30. It seems so weird. He is still my oldest child and will always be but I love him to death and would not be complete with out him. For his birthday we went out last week to Iggy's Bar and Grill to watch the Utes play TCU. What a great game!!! Then this weekend we are getting together with some friends who have birthday's close to this time and we are going bowling. I am sure it will be a blast. As you get older birthdays seem to come and go but I could not pass up not doing something for his 30th. I love you babe and you are such a great husband and a father.

Life Goes On

I am being such a slacker. I have new pictures to put up, I just have not had the care to get them down loaded from the camera onto the computer. But keep looking because they are coming. I have pictures of Halloween, Kiyah had a blast thanks to her cousins that she was able to run around with. ( Thanks Kim and Jenni). And there will be more to come as we head into the Holiday Season.
