This Year, 2010

I am looking forward to this upcoming year. As it is we are already into February....where did the last month go? Oh well. I hope that everyone had a good last year and that you get your wishes for this coming year. I have many goals this year and we will just have to take things one step at a time.

Xander just turned one last week and we had ALL of Ryan's family there. Ok Nana couldn't make it but we lover her anyway. He had such a good time opening gifts and eating his cake. He is doing great otherwise. He is almost walking, and he loves following Kiyah around the house. His first word was puppy, hence a puppy cake for his birthday.

Kiyah is two months away from turning 3 and she is being so independent!!! She is fully potty trained, love this, and if we do the things we need to she will have her own room around her birthday. She can read a little and seems to need me less and less and wants to do stuff "all by herself", as she always says to me.

Ryan is still working with DJB Gas Services and is doing well there. It is stable and secure and we love it.

I am still trying to lose baby weight and now that I am watching three extra kids all day hopefully the pounds will start to slip away. Like I said I am watching three more kids, my neighbors kids. She has three girls at 6, 3 and 3 months. It is interesting to go out shopping, but I still make it some days and we even head out and play at McDonalds every now and again.

Other than that we are still trying to do touch ups on our house. The next project is the basement bedroom. We want that done so I can put my office down there and Kiyah and Xander can have their own rooms. We are heading down to San Diego in the summer and can't wait!!!

Again we hope for the best for everyone this year. And we love getting together so by all means give us a call at the drop of a hat and we can do something.

Happy #1 Xander

Pictures from Xander's first birthday. Had a good time and Xander was so happy. Kiyah helped open the presents of course and Xander got to dive in to his puppy cake. He actually picked up his piece with both hands and eat it like a T-Bone Steak. Awesome! Love you little guy, you are the sweetest little boy and you have such a great smile.

Xander 9 months

He is doing pretty good. Crawling on hands and knees, pulls to a kneel, he prefers that. It is really cute when he waves because it looks like he is doing a hand loose surfer sign. Awesome, that's my boy. He is a little over 18 pounds and is about 30" tall.

The new baby giraffe

Had to go see the penguins, they were all swimming

On Saturday we took a walk from This is The Place Monument around to the back entrance of the Hoggle Zoo. Kiyah even walk a little bit. Then we got to spend the day at the zoo. Kiyah had such a good time with her cousins and they all stood and watched the penguins for a long time.

Old Picture

Going through some pictures and saw this and thought it was really cute. For anyone who has seen the movie Tom Sawyer, this outfit on her makes her look just like Becky Thatcher from that.

So Dang Cute

This was actually at Bass Lake. He had rolled off his blanket and all the way under the coffee table and fell asleep. Sucking his thumb of course. He doesn't do that anymore luckily.

Vacation

I do not have any pictures yet, but I can at least talk about the vacation that we just took. We went to Bass Lake, southern Yosemite, with my side of the family. We started off on Saturday the 18 and drove for 13 hours, it should have been 10. Kiyah got car sick about an hour before we got to the lake. Then we spent the week water skiing, tubing, and hanging out with cousins. Kiyah rode the Bonsai, which is the same thing that she rode last year at the River. She would ride with anyone that would let her and anyone that would go slow. Ryan and I rode also and have the bruises and scars to prove it. That toy is a very mean thing. I ended up with several bruises, a fat lip and a couple rug burns. But I am finally healing from it. Then on Saturday the 25 we came home, trying to avoid Yosemite, but Kiyah still got sick, this time at the beginning of the trip. And while avoiding Yosemite we spent an extra 5 hours in the car. Our poor kids were so tired of the trip and did not want to get back in the car after our lunch break. But we made it home and are so happy to have been able to spend some time with the Harrison side of the family. Hopefully we will forget the trip by next year and venture out again.

No Picture, Thank Goodness

I was working today and had just started... both my children were sitting right at my side. Xander was in his bouncy seat and Kiyah was helping him move the toys on it to make some noise. She being two, wants to do it herself and gets mad that Xander is playing with it. So after about 10 seconds of working I turn around and see her trying to climb into the bouncy seat with Xander so that she can play too. Needless to say you cannot even turn your back on a 2 year old, even if they are in the same room with you. This is the chair that apparently needs to be a two seater.

Old picture of Kiyah in the chair.

What a Dork

I was going through some pictures just to see what I had and I found this. Here we are trying to take a nice shot of Nana and there is my dork of a husband needing some attention. He is such a goof. But someone has to love him right?!?! If anyone wants that job of loving him let me know. J/K. He is a great person and a wonderful father.

4 & 26

Update on Kiyah and Xander: Xander is now 4 months old, seems so much longer. He is rolling over from his back to his belly, and of course hates it when he gets to his stomach because he can't see anything. His check up went just perfect, nothing to cause worry, he is 14.8 pounds and 24.5". His doctor loves doing his check up because he always holds still and lets him do whatever he needs. He is bigger than Kiyah was at this age, but I think is has to do with him breast feeding longer than she did. Kiyah is 26 months old, or just over 2 years, and had the lovely affair of getting stitches. She was good through the whole thing and the nurses loved working with her. She loves singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star all the time and of course with that same tune she loves singing ABC's. Both love being around each other and Kiyah is so accepting of all the things that Xander does to her.

Many Things....

We went to SD for Spring Break, I know a little late,
Kiyah feed the animals at the Wild Animal Park

This is our barbecue in the back yard. We discovered a robin was living in it, with her four eggs!!!Unfortunately they did not live, the mother abondoned them when we found her living there.
The start to my garden. This was Ryan's Mother's Day present to me. He cleaned out the front area and planted a bunch of flowers. They are starting to look really good. I love them.

My poor baby girl. We were at a funeral and she was putting the hymn book back in the holder and slipped off the bench and into the book holder. What a brave little girl though, after the shock wore off she was singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star about 45 mintues later as we were driving up to Primary Children's Hospital to get stitches in her nose. She got 8 stitches and luckily no black eyes. Hopefully there will not be too much of a scar.

Having Fun

At the school by our house

At the Discovery Zone. You can't really tell, but the ball tube that she is playing with was blowing her hair back when she opened it up to put the balls in. She had a blast there, thanks Jackie

She loves helicopters!!! Oh sorry, to her it is a hellcoller. But if you say it that way she says, "NO! It's a hellcoller!" She is so funny.

My Boyz

What a cute smile

LOOK EYES

Believe it or not my son has eyes. This is the only picture so far that I have with his eyes open. Just like everyone else, the second kid gets less pictures taken of them at the beginning. All in all he is a very happy baby.
